I would like, if I may, to draw attention to

the point in paragraph 1 that the rents charged for Governant quarters in llong Kong ere at least three times those recommended for Malays:

the rates of local oversees allowances for married Apay officers in Hong Kong, quoted in paragraph 2 of the Delogram, and the Governor's remark that t.oro is no tapering
